Audience Research for DubstepMag
Anaylsis of Vibe magazine double page spread
- A double page spread can use 4/3 colomns a page this contents page uses up to 4 colomns.
- Theres snapshots of the singer all above the writing in black and white and to break up the writing theres a larger picture in colour, and this makes the double page spread look more appealing to the reader.
- The first section that the audience read is in capital letters and the singers name is in colour.
- The gutter of the magazine is 0.7 cm wide.
Analysis of Vibe magazine contents page
- Vibe magazine is for audiences who like Hip Hop and Rap. On this contents page there is only one large main picture which is of a rapper and thats what a rap sterotype is. The logo 'Vibe' is on the right and there is a large 'V' at the back of the picture which symbolises vibe magazine. The title contents is placed in a interesting way in which I would have as one of my ideas for my magazine contents page. The magazine has all the different articles listed with sub headings. The date is placed at the bottom of the magazine.

The aesthetic of Dubstep
- These images are of Dubstep records covers, the three of the covers have there own style but are all linked in a way that a Dubstep fan would see. The writing of the covers are all bold and make the name 'Dubstep' stand out. The colours they use in the album covers are either black, white, grey and blunt colours.
- This screen shot comes from a record label website called 'Dubstrict Records' which is specially for Dubstep. The font of the writing is bold and graffiti like, as there is a spray paint effect around the picture. The DJ deck, the sound speakers and the microphones in the photo symbolises Dubstep as the music is loud heavy bass and when you go to a Dubstep rave you see and experience this. The colours of the writing are almost rave like and simple but stand out. The name of the records 'Dubstrict Records' you automatically know the label is linked to 'Dubstep'.
